Everyone was waiting with curiosity: No comment from Erdoğan on PKK's dissolution decision

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the ceremony held for the 157th Anniversary of the Council of State. At the event held in the Council of State Conference Hall, it was awaited with curiosity whether Erdoğan would make any assessments regarding the terrorist organization PKK's decision to "lay down arms and dissolve itself."

However, Erdoğan did not make any comments regarding the decision announced by the PKK at its latest congress.

In his speech, Erdoğan focused on the independence of the judiciary and the establishment of justice, emphasizing his determination in the fight against crime.

A state is only a state if it rules with justice.

In a country where faith in justice is shaken to its core, no matter what you do, you cannot establish peace and tranquility.

Effective, fast, and accessible justice is at the very top of our government's priorities. We have implemented many regulations to date to strengthen the judiciary. We have supported this with our reform and strategy documents. We have left behind the law of the superior, which was a painful memory of the tutelage eras, and established the principle of the rule of law in its place. Instead of a judiciary that applauded coups, we established a judicial regime that imposed the sentence deserved by coup plotters on behalf of the nation. We added the principle of impartiality to the independence of the judiciary.

'WE WILL CONTINUE TO CRACK DOWN ON THOSE WHO COMMIT CRIMES'

We will not allow the preconception that "the perpetrator gets away with it" to take root in society for any reason. We will continue to crack down on those who commit crimes and those who see themselves as superior to the state.

Our fight against FETÖ, which has not given up on ambushing our democracy even after all the betrayals that have emerged in this process, will continue to strengthen.

Let us not forget that if history is not learned from, it repeats itself. We can only prevent the betrayals we have experienced in the recent past by using reason, experience, and learning lessons from history.

I would like to emphasize this point: The targeting of the families and children of our judicial members who strive for the manifestation of justice, and having them booed in public squares, is unacceptable. Under the pretext of criticism, no one can wag their finger at members of the judiciary.
