Extraordinary appeal to the YSK from the New Welfare Party: 'Somehow, the AKP's votes keep increasing'

New Welfare Party Election Coordination Chairman Mahmut Tandoğan and New Welfare Party Siverek Mayoral Candidate Hasan İzol have submitted an extraordinary appeal petition to the YSK, alleging that irregularities occurred in 3 ballot boxes in the Siverek district of Şanlıurfa following the March 31 Local Administration General Elections.

"SOMEHOW, THE AKP'S VOTES KEEP INCREASING"

Making statements regarding the appeal in front of the YSK building after submitting the files, Tandoğan stated that after an objection was filed regarding the fact that the New Welfare Party's 72 votes were recorded as 0 in the district consolidation report, they won the municipality by an 8-vote margin, adding, "After this process was completed, an irregular recount was conducted regarding ballot boxes numbered 1369, 1370, and 1371 in a manner contrary to procedure. Someone not recognized by the district election board came and said, 'We have an objection regarding these ballot boxes, there is suspicion.' Based on this suspicion, the AK Party representative applied to the Siverek District Election Board and requested a recount of these 3 ballot boxes.

The District Election Board also irregularly recounted these 3 ballot boxes. As a result of the recount of these 3 ballot boxes, somehow the AK Party's votes increase in all 3 boxes, while the New Welfare Party's votes decrease in all 3 boxes. One of these 3 ballot boxes is in the village of our Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Mayor Kasım Gülpınar. The fact that this ballot box is involved in this matter has raised strong suspicion at the New Welfare Party Headquarters. We examined this ballot box and held talks with its chairman. The chairman of this ballot box said, 'On election day, we counted this ballot box in the presence of all parties. As a result of the count of the ballot box, no different procedure was carried out.'
