The election for the CHP parliamentary group chairmanship has concluded. Faik Öztrak and Gürsel Erol competed for the group chairmanship at the meeting held under the leadership of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

Following Gürsel Erol's withdrawal from his candidacy in the third round of the election, Faik Öztrak was elected as the CHP Group Chair.

Making a statement on his social media account after the election, Erol thanked the deputies who supported him. Stating, "I have to express a truth clearly today," Erol made criticisms regarding intra-party politics.

Emphasizing the democratic tradition of the CHP, Erol stated that the free will of the deputies should be the basis in intra-party elections. Erol argued that the will of no party leader or political focus should take precedence over the preferences of the deputies.

In his statement, Erol expressed that the CHP has a culture based on "common sense, not a single voice," and noted that the struggle is not for individuals, but for the party's democratic traditions, institutional memory, and the future of Turkey.
