Fatih Altaylı criticizes prices at Agricultural Credit cooperatives praised by Erdoğan: '2000 percent increase in 5 years'

Journalist Fatih Altaylı stated that a 5-liter container of olive oil purchased by President and AKP Chairman Tayyip Erdoğan from an Agricultural Credit Cooperative cost 99 liras at the time, while it has risen to 1888 liras today, and said the following:

"A 2000 percent increase in 5 years. A 100 percent increase in 5 months. And this is in the famous Agricultural Credit Cooperative retail stores that our President recommends due to their affordability." 

Noting that pensions have been increased to 10 thousand TL, Altaylı continued:

"Since 2019, while pensions have increased 5-fold, the price of olive oil has increased 20-fold. While a retiree could buy 20 tins of olive oil with their salary in 2019, today they can only buy 5 tins. Not even long ago, just 6 months ago at the end of July, a retiree who could buy 9 tins of olive oil with their salary can now buy 5 tins with their increased salary. That is, if the Agricultural Credit Cooperative does not impose a new price hike on olive oil before the salary even reaches their hands."
