In his column today, journalist Fatih Altaylı reacted to the '50+1' remarks made by President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan upon his return from Germany.

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan answered journalists' questions on the plane following the summit in Germany.
Erdoğan stated, "The current 50+1 requirement is leading parties down the wrong path. It is unclear whose hand is in whose pocket. There is the table of six, the table of sixteen... Who knows what will emerge next? But if it were said that 'the candidate with the most votes wins' based on the number of votes, the election would be completed quickly."

Journalist Fatih Altaylı reacted to Erdoğan's statements in his column today. Altaylı said the following:
"I truly wonder if this nation will really let this government, which plunges the country into a different crisis with every law it passes and regrets every action shortly after taking it, make a change that they will regret again in a short while. Yet, in my opinion, even discussing this is an exercise in futility. What we should be discussing are the price tags in the markets. And the immigration policies that are largely the cause of this. The domestic and foreign capital that is fleeing. And the lawlessness that is the cause of this."
