Fatih Altaylı recalls the closure case against the AKP: 'If that's the case, why was the Constitutional Court's decision implemented?'

Journalist Fatih Altaylı addressed AKP officials on his personal YouTube channel regarding the judicial crisis that began with the Supreme Court of Appeals' refusal to comply with a Constitutional Court ruling.

"WHY WAS THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT'S DECISION IMPLEMENTED"

Altaylı stated the following:

"Do not look too far back; some time ago, a closure case was filed against the AKP. Who wanted the AKP to be closed? The Supreme Court of Appeals. It also requested that AKP officials be banned from politics. Who did not close it? The Constitutional Court. Whose decision was followed? The Constitutional Court's. I have no further questions, Your Honor.

If the Supreme Court of Appeals were the higher court and if the Supreme Court of Appeals' decision were valid, the AKP and the IYI Party would not exist today. Mr. Erdoğan, who leads the AKP today and sits in the Presidential office, would also have been banned from politics. Because that is what the Supreme Court of Appeals wanted. If that is the case, and if the Supreme Court of Appeals were the superior institution, why was the Constitutional Court's decision implemented back then?"
