Fatih Erbakan brings it to the agenda, saying 'it must be discussed'

New Welfare Party Chairman Fatih Erbakan visited IYI Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu at the IYI Party Headquarters. Following the closed-door meeting, which lasted approximately 45 minutes, Dervişoğlu and Erbakan held a joint press conference.

Dervişoğlu stated that all of Turkey's important issues were addressed during the brief meeting. "We evaluated many topics such as Turkey's democracy, justice, understanding of law, economy, the situation of retirees, and the vision for the future," said Dervişoğlu, adding that they also discussed deadlocks and misguided policies in foreign affairs. He also expressed that they touched upon the contributions of Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan to Turkish politics. Dervişoğlu stated that as two parties, they could carry out comprehensive joint work in the coming period and that they would conduct a return visit.

KÜRECİK RADAR STATION REMARK

Erbakan, for his part, expressed his sorrow over the death of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in the Iranian capital of Tehran, and said they would attend his funeral prayer. Referring to the President's statements regarding Israel, Erbakan said, "I state that the Kürecik Radar Station must be closed. This base supports Israel's missile shield and intelligence."

WE ARE READY FOR AN EARLY ELECTION

The issue of an early election was also addressed during the press conference. Regarding an early election, Dervişoğlu stated that the IYI Party has made its preparations, but that the conditions for an election must be met and a decision by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) is required. Dervişoğlu said, "When an early election comes to the agenda, we as the IYI Party are ready for the election."

ERBAKAN SAID '2025'

Erbakan, noting that economic indicators are worsening, said, "We must discuss holding an early election within the year 2025. By May 2025, the current economic management will have completed two years, and the AK Party government will have completed 23 years. If there is no improvement by then, an early election should be discussed in 2025."
