New Welfare Party Chairman Fatih Erbakan stated, "We remind the President that he was elected President by surpassing the 50 percent threshold thanks to the votes of New Welfare voters."
In a post on his social media account, Erbakan used the following expressions:
"We state that we do not find the unfortunate expression he used for our Istanbul Deputy Mr. Doğan Bekin appropriate for the office that Mr. President represents, and we invite him to be courteous.
Furthermore, regarding his statements that our New Welfare Party gained the right to be represented in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) thanks to them, we remind Mr. President that he was also elected President by surpassing the 50 percent threshold thanks to the votes of New Welfare voters."
WHAT DID ERDOĞAN SAY?
President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had said the following regarding the New Welfare Party:
"One of them came out, excuse me, a rude person, and said, 'Mahmud Abbas should be allowed to speak in our Parliament.' Who is this? There is one guy from New Welfare, he probably has some mental issues too. Who told you that we didn't invite Abbas? We did invite him, but unfortunately, Abbas could not give us a positive response. We will manage the process from here on accordingly. While we are taking all these steps, unfortunately, we are being stabbed in the back by our own. Who have we not opened this Parliament to... We open this Parliament to everyone who is on the path of Truth. If a few people from your party entered Parliament today, they did so thanks to us. Recognize this."
