Fatih Erbakan warns AKP: 'The path you are on is wrong'

The Yeniden Refah Party's 3rd Ordinary Istanbul Provincial Congress was held at the Yahya Kemal Beyatlı Performance Center in Küçükçekmece. At the congress, the incumbent Istanbul Provincial Chairman Nuri Özata was elected as the sole candidate. Fatih Erbakan, who attended the congress, spoke about his party's goals for power and his criticisms of the current government.

"WE WILL BE THE NUMBER ONE PARTY"

Fatih Erbakan stated that their party is growing rapidly, saying, "Despite those who said they couldn't establish it, couldn't do it, and wouldn't succeed, we have made our Yeniden Refah Party the third-largest political party in Turkey." Emphasizing that their goal is to become the number one party, Erbakan said, "Now we will increase our 652 thousand members to our target of 1 million members. Being the third party does not suit us. We will be the number one party."

"FOR US, THE INTERESTS OF THE NATION COME BEFORE EVERYTHING"

Addressing the government, Erbakan said, "We are not your enemies. We are your true friends who shout the bitter truths to your face." He stated that they make these warnings not for their own interests, but for the sake of the nation achieving prosperity for a better Turkey. "We know that your path is wrong, and we are warning you to save both your worldly life and your afterlife," he said.

"WE ARE WARNING YOU"

Fatih Erbakan touched upon the importance of the warnings they have issued to the government and said, "If you continue on this path, you will burn in the fire of debt and interest." Furthermore, he noted that their previous warnings were ignored and that the economy has deteriorated. Erbakan stated, "You are burning both this country and the nation in the fire of debt and interest, and you are burning yourselves as well."

"WE ARE REMINDING YOU A SECOND TIME OF WHAT WE WANT FOR THE NATION"

Recalling the support they provided in 2023, Erbakan referred to the 30-point protocol they presented at that time. "We did not ask you for positions or seats; we demanded justice and development for the nation," he said. Pointing to the government's inadequacies in the fields of economy, education, and health, Erbakan said, "You are present in interest, but you are absent in production."

"YOU ARE IN LUXURY VILLAS, YOU ARE NOT IN THE SLUMS"

Arguing that the government is deepening the gap between the rich and the poor, Erbakan criticized the government's practices by saying, "The government is present in luxury and ostentation, but is absent in meeting the needs of the people." He also criticized the privileges granted to favored groups by comparing them with the problems of small tradesmen.

"THE GOVERNMENT IS PRESENT IN NEPOTISM, BUT ABSENT IN MERIT"

Stating that nepotism has increased in Turkey and merit is being ignored, Erbakan drew attention to the merit problem in the public sector by saying, "Young people no longer trust their education, but their connections." He also stated that the government does not display a fair approach to every segment of society and only looks out for its own close circle.
