Election promise from Fatih Erbakan: We will close the 17 LGBT associations established in this country one by one, God willing

Fatih Erbakan said, "Starting from April 1, our mayors, who are clean, honest, and exemplary in every respect with their morality, humility, and family life, will hopefully begin their duties and will first hang a sign at the entrance of the municipality that reads, 'Both the one who takes and the one who gives a bribe is cursed.' 

In ethical municipalism, there is no bribery, theft, abuse, nepotism, favoritism, double standards, injustice, debt, or interest. They will prevent luxury, ostentation, and waste. They will mobilize resource packages. They will create a balanced budget and save our municipalities from debt and interest,” he said.

New Welfare Party Chairman Erbakan attended an iftar program organized by party members in the Şalpazarı district of Trabzon, which his late father, the late Necmettin Erbakan, had visited 28 years ago. Meeting with party members, Erbakan asked for support for Fatih Yılmaz, who is a candidate for mayor in the March 31, 2024 local elections. Erbakan began his remarks by saying, “I start my words with the prayer that may God make our blessed month of Ramadan a means for the salvation of the oppressed and those suffering from persecution all over the world, especially in Gaza. 

I wish our very valuable mayoral candidates success and victory, and I expect your support for them as well. Hopefully, our nation will get rid of rent-seeking municipalism and statue-focused municipalism, and by choosing the New Welfare Party on March 31, they will ensure that the era of ethical municipalism begins as of April 1. We see this atmosphere very clearly in every corner of Turkey. 

The squares, streets, and avenues, people from all walks of life, and our tradesmen are saying 'New Welfare' this time, they are saying 'National View' (Milli Görüş) this time, they are saying 'ethical municipalism' this time. What is the issue that commentators, polling companies, political scientists, and even politicians from rival parties outside of us clearly agree on? They say that there is one party that will increase its votes in this election, and that is the New Welfare Party. Yes, this is the truth. Hopefully, along with a large number of municipalities, we will increase our votes across Turkey tremendously, and we will realize the resurgence of the National View in the new era with our New Welfare Party,” he said.

"NEW WELFARE CADRES WILL START THE ERA OF ETHICAL MUNICIPALISM"

Stating, "Starting from April 1, our mayors, who are clean, honest, and exemplary in every respect with their morality, humility, and family life, will hopefully begin their duties and will first hang a sign at the entrance of the municipality that reads, 'Both the one who takes and the one who gives a bribe is cursed'," Erbakan continued, "In ethical municipalism, there is no bribery, theft, abuse, nepotism, favoritism, double standards, injustice, debt, or interest. Ethical municipalism means being more sensitive when spending money from the municipal budget than spending from one's own pocket. Because there is the right of the public in the municipal budget. Ethical municipalism means not allowing unfair enrichment from employees to the mayor. 

As of April 1, we will terminate the employment of 'ATM civil servants' (ghost employees) wandering around. Not a single ATM civil servant will remain. Without the awareness of sweat, public rights, and what is forbidden and permissible, neither a municipality nor a state can be managed. Our mayors will see the office of mayor as a place of worship to earn God's approval through ethical management. The New Welfare cadres, who do politics for God's approval and not for position or salary, will start the era of ethical municipalism and revive the spirit of '94 that we remember with longing,” he said.

"WE WILL MAKE OUR CITIZENS HOMEOWNERS WITHOUT PAYING INTEREST"

Noting that they will start the minimum wage in municipalities at 25 thousand liras as of April 1, Erbakan said, “Ethical municipalism does not mean a mayor who produces excuses and talk, but a mayor who produces solutions, achieves results, and does not waste time like money. Ethical municipalism means a municipality that works for the citizen, not for the crony; one that attaches importance to competence and merit, and gives jobs, duties, and tenders because they deserve it, not because they are a relative, a party member, or a crony. It means putting the one who deserves it in the service position, not the one who has connections or influence. This is the essence of ethical municipalism.

As of April 1, we will implement this and we will start the minimum wage in our municipalities at 25 thousand liras. We will resolve the grievances of subcontracted workers in municipal companies. Wages and working conditions will be regulated fairly. We will make our citizens homeowners with the most favorable payment terms, like paying rent, and I underline this, hopefully without making them pay interest. For 2.5 million homes, the interest to be paid on a loan is 5.5 million. As of the point where interest rates have reached, they are paying the price of 2-3 homes in interest. Is this how one becomes a homeowner? Hopefully, we will make them homeowners without paying interest. 

We will also provide free land if necessary to those who want to build their own homes. Along with this, we will not carry out urban transformation with a 'rent-seeking transformation' mentality. A fair and ethical urban transformation will be carried out by respecting public rights. It will be an urban transformation that is fair and ethical, by observing the rights of the public, by observing earthquake resistance, and by observing environmental protection, not by taking the citizen's 300 square meter right and giving them 100 square meters, not by victimizing the citizen so that money is transferred to the municipality, and not by victimizing the citizen so that the contractor gets rich,” he said.

"WE WILL CLOSE THE 17 LGBT ASSOCIATIONS ONE BY ONE, GOD WILLING"

Stating that they will close the 17 LGBT associations, Erbakan said, "We also say 'protect your city, protect your generation.' Protecting the generation will be realized by our mayors with projects where they will put forward the most effective fight against the scourge of drugs. They will protect our youth from this trouble. They will also implement projects for the rehabilitation and salvation of our youth who have fallen into this trouble, and LGBT, which is a great perversion movement and the scourge of the century, will never be allowed in our municipalities, God willing. 

Against the efforts to create a genderless society under the name of gender equality, and against the propaganda of LGBT lobbies, New Welfare municipalities will never, ever make the municipality's halls, buildings, stages, billboards, and advertising spaces a tool for this perversion, and will not allow this perversion. Hopefully, when the New Welfare comes to power in 2028, we will close the 17 LGBT associations established in this country since 2004 one by one, God willing. As cadres of the National View, we will put up the most effective fight both in municipalities and in power after 2028 to protect our generation. 

The terror of stray dogs will be prevented with God's permission. They will be collected in the healthiest and most comfortable shelters and will live in luxury under the supervision of veterinarians and experts. These places will be able to be watched live 24 hours a day by anyone who wishes. Our citizens will be able to watch the treatment in those shelters and the condition of the animals in their living conditions live 24 hours a day. And of course, they will be audited in our municipalities, and thus we will save our cities from this archaic savagery. We will hopefully save our precious little ones and our elderly from being exposed to these dog attacks,” he expressed.

"WE WILL REVIVE ETHICAL MUNICIPALISM"

Giving an example from a mayor of the Welfare Party in Kütahya in 1994, Erbakan said, “I would like to leave your presence by giving one example as an instance of ethical municipalism. What we will do as ethical municipalism cannot be finished by telling it here; these are written in detail in our election manifesto and in the booklets of our mayoral candidates' own work.

However, let me give one example to show what ethical municipalism is. What is it? The Welfare Party's mayor in Kütahya in '94 is still alive today. Do you know he used to walk around with one pen in one pocket and another pen in the other pocket? When they asked why, he said, 'I pay for the ink of one of the pens, and the municipality pays for the other. I cannot do my own trade or my own private business with the pen for which the municipality pays for the ink; I cannot use it here.

That is why I pay for it myself. I follow the municipality's business with the municipality's pen. There are two phones on his desk; the municipality pays the bill for one phone, and he pays the bill for the other himself. Why? Again for the same reason. He makes calls with his family and follows his private business with the phone for which he pays the bill himself. He follows the municipality's business with the phone for which the municipality pays the bill.

I am not talking about 100 thousand dollars, 1 million dollars, or 10 million dollars; I am talking about the ink cost of a pen, I am talking about the monthly phone bill of a fixed phone. This is ethical municipalism. These examples, which remind us of the sensitivity of Caliph Omar, were implemented by National Viewist municipalists and mayors in '89 and '94, and they made this nation experience it.

Now, in 2024, 30 years later, with the same spirit, with the same excitement, and for the same cause, we will revive National View municipalism and ethical municipalism once again. Hopefully, we will find a cure for the troubles of the dear nation again with the National View and with welfare,” he said.
