FETÖ ringleader Fetullah Gülen has died: The organization's conspiracies and its targets are back on the agenda

It has been reported that the leader of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), Fethullah Gülen, has passed away. The news of Gülen's death was first announced by websites close to the organization. While members of the organization confirmed the death of Gülen, who lived in Pennsylvania, his nephew Ebuseleme Gülen announced in a post on his social media account that he passed away on October 20.

IT COINCIDED WITH THE SAME DAY AS THE ERGENEKON CASE

Following Gülen's death, FETÖ's past murders and conspiracies have begun to be discussed again on social media and in the public eye.

The date of October 20 also coincides with the date the first hearing of the Ergenekon case, one of FETÖ's biggest conspiracies, was held. During the Ergenekon case, hundreds of thousands of people were wiretapped, thousands were followed, and hundreds were arrested. Some of the victims of the conspiracy cases passed away before they could see themselves exonerated.

HERE ARE THE NAMES TARGETED BY FETÖ

FETÖ's past crimes are not limited to conspiracy cases. The organization targeted many people it saw as opponents. Here are some of those names:

ALİ TATAR

Lieutenant Colonel Ali Tatar committed suicide after a second arrest warrant was issued for him within the scope of the "Assassination of Admirals" case. This event became one of the most painful examples revealing how FETÖ abused the legal system.

DEFNE JOY FOSTER

Famous actress and DJ Defne Joy Foster passed away in 2011. Her death was discussed for a long time in the public eye, and allegations were brought up that Foster might have been targeted due to her social media posts against FETÖ ringleader Gülen.

With Gülen's death, the organization's past crimes and the names it victimized have begun to be discussed again. Süleyman Pehlivan, one of the prosecutors of conspiracy cases such as "Assassination of Admirals" and "Balyoz" (Sledgehammer), was tried for FETÖ membership and sentenced to 13 years and 6 months in prison.

TÜRKAN SAYLAN AND HABLEMİTOĞLU CASES

One of the names targeted by FETÖ was Prof. Dr. Türkan Saylan, the founder of the Association for Supporting Contemporary Life (ÇYDD). Saylan's home was raided by FETÖ-affiliated police officers while she was receiving treatment in the hospital, and she passed away before the case was concluded.

Academic Assoc. Prof. Dr. Necip Hablemitoğlu lost his life as a result of an assassination in front of his home in Ankara in 2002. According to the indictment of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, FETÖ was behind this assassination as well. Hablemitoğlu's wife, Prof. Dr. Şengül Hablemitoğlu, shared a post regarding Gülen's death, stating, "May his fire be plentiful; the wicked go, but their wickedness continues for generations..."
