Figure referred to disciplinary board with demand for permanent expulsion takes front row at Anıtkabir

Edirne MP Ahmet Baran Yazgan, who was referred to the High Disciplinary Board with a demand for permanent expulsion from the CHP following harassment allegations against him, took a place in the front row during the visit held at Anıtkabir.

Among the party members on the Lion Road at Anıtkabir, in addition to Yazgan, figures such as Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar, who was suspended from duty, Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer, and Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Akın were also seen.

It drew attention that Yazgan took a place in the front section of the CHP delegation despite having been referred to the disciplinary board with a precautionary measure and a demand for permanent expulsion.

INVESTIGATION PROCESS

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had announced that an ex officio investigation had been launched into Ahmet Baran Yazgan following footage and allegations circulating on social media.

In the statement by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that the investigation was being conducted within the scope of the crimes of "sexual harassment" regulated in Article 105/1 of the Turkish Penal Code and "sexual assault remaining at the level of molestation" regulated in the second sentence of 102/1.

Following these developments, Yazgan had been referred to the High Disciplinary Board with a precautionary measure and a demand for permanent expulsion from the CHP.
