The transition of Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu to the AKP has drawn attention following the submission of a file prepared about her to Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç. The file contains 20 lawsuits and investigations opened against the municipality, some of which mention Çerçioğlu's name.

According to T24's report, the file lists tenders won by Erkan Karaaraslan, who is alleged to be Çerçioğlu's advisor; Aziz İhsan Aktaş, a whistleblower at the center of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) investigations; and Mustafa Levent Göktaş, who is alleged to have served as Çerçioğlu's lawyer. Allegations of irregularities in these tenders were also included in the file.

On the other hand, following the submission of this file, Ali Ulvi Yılmaz, who served as the Chief Public Prosecutor of Aydın, was reassigned as a Public Prosecutor at the İzmir Regional Court of Justice, as no progress could be made in the cases.

Following her joining the AKP, it is being awaited with curiosity what will happen to the lawsuits and investigations against Çerçioğlu, whose name is mentioned in many investigations, primarily those involving Aziz İhsan Aktaş.

Meanwhile, shares of Jantsa Jant Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., in which Ercan Çerçioğlu, the husband of Özlem Çerçioğlu who joined the AKP, is a major shareholder, have gained more than 25 percent in value over the last three days. The shares rose from 22.32 liras to 28.42 liras. The company's sales, however, fell by 25 percent in the first half of the year to 2.3 billion liras.
