CHP Group Deputy Chair Ali Mahir Başarır reacted to allegations that CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu met with DEVA Party district chairs and that the Esenyurt mayoral candidacy would be offered to them.

Speaking on a television program he attended, Başarır said the following:

"I hope there is no such thing. A party is kept alive by rules and principles. If such a decision is to be made, it must first be discussed at length in the relevant boards, the Party Assembly (PM), and the MKYK before a decision is reached. I hope there is no such thing. There is no such intention. If there is, it will truly remind us of the 39-MP incident, and we have a municipality and a mayor in Esenyurt, it will remind us of that case. Such a thing is unacceptable. When we include the IYI Party in Parliament, there are 9 right-wing parties. Most of these are parties based on political Islam philosophy. When we look at left-wing parties, there are EMEP, TİP, and CHP. There is such a picture in Parliament. Where should we place our rules? We also have a share in this. Despite this, making DEVA and Gelecek district chairs mayors is a mental lapse. The party congress will not allow this. We will not allow such a thing."

Reminding of the 39-MP incident and noting that it was not discussed in the party's relevant boards, CHP Group Deputy Chair Ali Mahir Başarır reacted to the process.
