Savaş, who was nominated as the candidate for Hatay Metropolitan Mayor, stated, "Those who set out to serve never tire."
REFERENCE TO GÖKHAN ZAN AND HALUK LEVENT
Highlights from Savaş's speech are as follows:
"I greet you all with love and respect. Welcome to our auspicious day. I love you, and I know very well that you love me too. May God be pleased with you all.
We love Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and we protect his legacy. On the path we have taken, we need will, strength, and vision. But most of all, we need heart, a real heart.
Those who set out to serve never tire. To whom do you entrust your most precious things? When you go to the hospital, to the doctor, or to the military, who is most important to you? Your family, your mother, your children... You entrust them to someone you trust. This trust is not built with money or fame. It is not built by singing songs, nor by playing football.
"IF I HAD NOT BEEN A CANDIDATE, THE RULING PARTY WOULD HAVE WON"
I became a candidate for those who said, 'We will come again.' This homeland is ours. This election will not be a contest between the CHP and the ruling party. This election will be between those who protect Atatürk's legacy and those who ignore it.
If I had not been a candidate, the ruling party would have won the election with 60 to 65 percent of the vote.
We could not hand over Atatürk's legacy to those who left us alone. We do not give up on our passion. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to our Chairman, who trusted me and entrusted Hatay to us despite all kinds of conspiracies."
