First reaction from CHP to İYİ Party's alliance decision! 'That is their own business, there will be consequences'

CHP Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın evaluated the İYİ Party's decision to enter the local elections 'freely and independently' by stating, "If the İYİ Party rejects the electoral alliance, that is their own business. This will have consequences among both the CHP and İYİ Party bases."

As the local elections approach, the 'cooperation' talks that began between the CHP and İYİ Party have come to an end.

The İYİ Party General Administrative Board (GİK) rejected the CHP's proposal for cooperation in the local elections by a majority vote. İYİ Party Spokesperson Kürşad Zorlu announced that his party has decided to "enter the local elections independently" next year.

The first reaction from the CHP came following the İYİ Party's decision. CHP Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın, during a television program he attended, stated, "If the İYİ Party rejects the electoral alliance, that is their own business. This will have consequences among both the CHP and İYİ Party bases."

WHAT HAPPENED?

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel visited İYİ Party Chairwoman Meral Akşener on Thursday, November 30. While the meeting between the delegations lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes, it was stated that the two chairmen held a brief one-on-one evaluation. Following the meeting, Özel and Akşener made statements to the press. Regarding the alliance issue, Akşener had said, "We were naturally going to convene our GİK on Monday anyway. We will ask this question to our General Administrative Board there. We will see what kind of answer they give."
