First reaction from CHP to Muharrem İnce's local election decision!

CHP Spokesperson Deniz Yücel did not delay in responding to the local election decision made by Memleket Party leader Muharrem İnce. Explaining the demands of the Memleket Party, Yücel stated, "We leave the assessment to the public."

Memleket Party Chairman Muharrem İnce has closed the doors to an alliance with the CHP for the local elections to be held on March 31.

Stating that his party has 3 candidate nominees for Istanbul, İnce said that one of these names is Mehmet Sevigen.

Reacting to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's use of the word 'Dersim', İnce said, "We do not have a province called Dersim. Dersim is the name of a region."

When asked, "What is your expectation for forming an alliance with the CHP?", İnce replied as follows:

"Changing is one thing, becoming something else is another. That is not a party I belong to. To form such an alliance... If conditions change tomorrow and a different administration comes, then we will talk again. How can I form an alliance when the CHP says yes to Sweden, how can I form one if they are 'DEM-ing' every day? We must have a stance."

FIRST RESPONSE FROM CHP

The response from the CHP to İnce's remarks, which dominated the agenda, was not delayed.

CHP Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Deniz Yücel stated in a post on his X (Twitter) account, "When the process reached a point that our party base and organization could not accept, he made today's statement upon the deadlock in negotiations. We know that the statements and criticisms he made today would never have been made if the negotiations had yielded positive results."

Yücel made the following statements:

"Negotiations have been conducted through different channels between our party and the Memleket Party regarding cooperation in the local elections since January 4.

We listened with sadness to the statements of Mr. Muharrem İnce, who did not utter a single sentence about an 'principled stance' during these meetings, and who did not even bring up the political criticisms he voiced at the press conference he held today.

During the meetings, Mr. İnce had requested a certain number of municipal council memberships and a metropolitan district mayoralty in İzmir.

When the process reached a point that our party base and organization could not accept, he made today's statement upon the deadlock in negotiations.

We know that the statements and criticisms he made today would never have been made if the negotiations had yielded positive results.
