First response from AKP to Özgür Özel's remarks on Hakan Fidan: 'While some continue to destroy the reputation of the Republic of Turkey we inherited from Mustafa Kemal...'

The first response from the AKP camp has arrived regarding the remarks made by CHP leader Özgür Özel about Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan. AKP Deputy Chairman Zafer Sırakaya stated, "While the CHP's complaints about Turkey to foreign countries and their baseless slanders are evident, the CHP's Özel is trying to save the day with political maneuvers far from reality. While some continue to destroy the reputation of the Republic of Turkey that we inherited from Mustafa Kemal, we will continue to work tirelessly for a strong and fully independent Turkey that protects our country's interests and defends the rights of our nation."

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel continues his recent criticisms of Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan.

Recalling the developments in foreign policy during Fidan's tenure, Özel said, "There is not a peep about any of these, it's all about TikTok. You cannot run a ministry by making eyebrow gestures at cameras, sharing videos on TikTok with Valley of the Wolves themes, and posing as a 'mysterious deep state man'."

The response from the AKP to Özel's remarks about Fidan was not delayed. In a post on his social media account, AKP Deputy Chairman Zafer Sırakaya alluded to the operations targeting the CHP, claiming that Özel was trying to change the agenda, and noted the following:

"Mr. Özel, stop watching TikTok and take care of your party first. The CHP is once again trying to change the agenda to hide the corruption allegations and political defeats within its ranks. The name they have targeted is our Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan. Because Hakan Fidan is a name who works solely for Turkey's interests and represents our country's strong stance. This determined stance, which protects Turkey's rights and stands by the oppressed in the international arena, only disturbs the enemies of Turkey."

Continuing his post with praise for Minister Fidan, Sırakaya used the following expressions:

"This structure, drowning in its own political balances, will never be able to weaken Turkey's will to pursue a strong and balanced foreign policy with its attempts to smear and distort Mr. Hakan Fidan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues its duty with great responsibility and success in line with our country's national interests. While the CHP's complaints about Turkey to foreign countries and their baseless slanders are evident, the CHP's Özel is trying to save the day with political maneuvers far from reality. While some continue to destroy the reputation of the Republic of Turkey that we inherited from Mustafa Kemal, we will continue to work tirelessly for a strong and fully independent Turkey that protects our country's interests and defends the rights of our nation."
