First statement from CHP's Murat Bakan after meeting with Ali Yerlikaya! A notable response to the Süleyman Soylu question

While eyes in the political agenda are turned toward the return visit that AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will pay to CHP leader Özgür Özel, another critical summit took place in Ankara today.

CHP Deputy Chairman responsible for the Ministry of Interior, Murat Bakan, met with Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya.

Following the meeting at the Ministry of Interior, CHP's Murat Bakan answered questions from journalists.

RESPONSE TO THE SOYLU QUESTION: I DO NOT WANT TO MENTION HIS NAME

Thanking Ali Yerlikaya, Murat Bakan gave the following response to a question regarding the polemics he experienced with the previous minister, Süleyman Soylu:

“We are in a new era. We need to be able to consult and solve the country's problems together. The past was wrong. The points where the government and the opposition intersect are the country's problems.

I do not want to mention the previous minister's name at all. In that period, political party chairmen were coming to the front of the Ministry of Interior to fight. This is not right. Two countries go to war, and even warring countries maintain diplomacy. There is nothing more natural than having a communication channel between the government and the opposition in a country. But when the time comes, you put up the toughest fight."

"I DO NOT FIND IT APPROPRIATE TO SHARE AT THIS MOMENT"

When asked, "Was there a discussion regarding what happened in the Police Department after the Ayhan Bora Kaplan file?", Murat Bakan replied, "It is not right for me to share the content right now. Since we did not make a plan together to share the content of the meeting point by point, I do not find it appropriate to share it at this moment."
