First statement from Numan Kurtulmuş after visiting HEDEP! What was discussed in the meeting?

Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş visited HEDEP. Numan Kurtulmuş was welcomed by HEDEP Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan.

FIRST STATEMENT AFTER THE MEETING

According to the report in Gazete Duvar, Kurtulmuş made a brief statement after the 40-minute meeting, saying, "After I was elected Speaker of the Parliament, I paid return visits to all the political parties with groups in the Parliament that had visited me to offer their congratulations. Today, I paid a return visit to the HEDEP group. On this occasion, I hope that the upcoming period in Parliament will be one where there is a good opportunity for work, in order to soften the political climate among political parties and to ensure that exchanges of ideas can take place in a healthier environment."

Reminding that budget negotiations will begin next week, Kurtulmuş also conveyed his congratulations to Bakırhan on his election as co-chair.

HEDEP Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan also stated, "We had visited them. They have now paid a return visit. It was a productive and good meeting. We also express our hope that the upcoming period in Parliament will be one of greater tolerance and dialogue. We thank them for their visit."

As part of his return visits, Kurtulmuş had previously met with CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, AKP Group Chairman Abdullah Güler, and SAADET Group Chairman Selçuk Özdağ.
