Flash 'Izmir' and 'Akşener' claim from Aytun Çıray: Have the AKP and IYI Party reached an agreement?

Speaking on journalist Nevşin Mengü's YouTube channel, 27th-term MP Aytun Çıray stated that the possibility of the AKP not fielding a candidate in Izmir, on the condition that the IYI Party fields candidates in all 81 provinces, is being discussed. Çıray also made a significant claim regarding IYI Party leader Akşener's speech on March 3.

Guest on journalist Nevşin Mengü's YouTube channel, Aytun Çıray made significant claims regarding the IYI Party's policies, his candidacy in Izmir, and IYI Party leader Akşener.

In response to Mengü's question, "How should we interpret Ümit Özlale being nominated in Izmir? Why Izmir? Is this a challenge?", Çıray replied as follows:

"YOU START WITH ERBAKAN AND END WITH ATATÜRK"

"Every political party has the freedom to make decisions on its own behalf. I think Ms. Akşener's statement that she is 'tired of alliances' is impossible under this constitution. You have to form alliances with parties whose vote percentages you do not know. However, there is a process that began with my attempt to be purged, starting from the 2020 IYI Party Congress. It is no coincidence that I was being sidelined with the knowledge of the Chairperson. However, it was thought that I should not be in the IYI Party due to other political engagements.

I am of the opinion that there is a rapprochement between the IYI Party and the AKP. If you look at all the policies implemented by the IYI Party since 2020, whenever the party evolved toward growth, it encountered an incident and shrank. Just as it is rising, the 'Path of Omar' project emerges. You start with Erbakan and end with Atatürk."

"I PERFORMED A STATE DUTY FOR THE LAST TIME"

Çıray also touched upon Akşener's March 3 outburst during the candidate determination process of the Table of Six. Çıray made the following claims:

"There is an incident that has been bothering me since the elections. After her speech on March 3, Ms. Akşener said, 'I performed a state duty for the last time.' With what state duty was a political leader tasked? Which wing of the state gave such a task, and is this task to break up the table? If a wing of the state is saying this, for what reasons did it say it?"

CLAIM THAT THE AKP WILL NOT FIELD A CANDIDATE

Çıray also claimed that the AKP might not field a candidate in Izmir, stating the following:

"According to what I have heard, a source I take seriously called me two nights ago. They said that the possibility of the AKP not fielding a candidate in Izmir, on the condition that the IYI Party fields candidates everywhere in Turkey, is being discussed."
