Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Öncü Keçeli made assessments regarding the 'genocide' application filed by the Republic of South Africa against Israel at the International Court of Justice. Keçeli stated, "We welcome the application."

Keçeli used the following expressions: "We welcome the application filed by the Republic of South Africa against Israel at the International Court of Justice regarding the violation of obligations under the 1948 'Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide'."

Keçeli also said the following:

"Stating that Israel has killed over 22 thousand Palestinian civilians in Gaza for nearly three months, the vast majority of whom are women and children, Keçeli said, 'This must in no way go unpunished, and those responsible must be held accountable before international law. We hope that the process will be completed as soon as possible. Likewise, in accordance with this application, it is expected that the International Court of Justice will issue a provisional measure decision requiring Israel to stop its attacks on Gaza. Turkey will also be a follower of the implementation of this decision.'"
