Former AKP Giresun Deputy Cemal Öztürk has lost his life. The 67-year-old Öztürk had been receiving treatment in intensive care for some time.
AKP İzmir Deputy Eyüp Kadri İnan announced that Cemal Öztürk, who served as an AKP deputy in the 26th and 27th terms, has passed away.
In a post shared on his social media account, İnan stated the following:
"I have learned with deep sorrow of the passing of our 26th and 27th term deputy, our elder brother Cemal Öztürk. The valuable services he rendered to our party and our nation will always be remembered with gratitude. I pray for God's mercy upon the deceased and wish patience and fortitude to his family, loved ones, and our entire community. May he rest in peace."
WHO IS CEMAL ÖZTÜRK?
He was born in 1958 in Görele. He completed his primary education in Çanakçı Akköy, middle school in Giresun, high school in Trabzon, and university in Ankara. He earned a master's degree and a doctorate in business administration from the Karadeniz Technical University Institute of Social Sciences.
He held positions as an expert at the Ministry of Industry and Technology, a lecturer at Karadeniz Technical University, deputy general manager and board member at Çaykur; general manager and board member at Fiskobirlik, audit and board member at Başak Sigorta, general manager and board member at Groupama International companies, and general coordinator at BMC Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.
He served in management roles in non-governmental organizations, including as MÜSİAD İzmir Branch President, member of the Turkish Football Federation audit board, and acting AK Party İzmir Provincial Chairman.
He was elected as an AK Party Giresun Deputy for the 26th and 27th terms.
