Former AKP MP reacts to investigation launched into TÜSİAD! 'This investigation is not right'

Former AKP MP Şamil Tayyar criticized the investigation into TÜSİAD on the Medya Kritik program broadcast on TGRT Haber television. Arguing that TÜSİAD's current position is not the same as its position during the February 28 period, Tayyar stated that people have started asking, 'Where is Turkey heading?' Tayyar said, "If you make even a criticism a subject of judicial proceedings, who will speak?"

Stating during the program that he did not agree with the speeches made by TÜSİAD President Orhan Turan and TÜSİAD High Advisory Council President Mehmet Ömer Arif Aras at the TÜSİAD General Assembly Meeting, Şamil Tayyar said, "If you make even a criticism a subject of judicial proceedings, then who will speak?" and added:

"I do not agree with the content of the speech. It has gone beyond its own scope. It is normal for it to be met with reaction because TÜSİAD has a poor track record. Despite everything, the investigation launched into TÜSİAD is not right. If an investigation was to be launched into TÜSİAD, it should have been for February 28. A coup does not emerge from these statements."
