Former Ülkü Ocakları President reacts to Bahçeli's 'founding leader' remarks: 'Mobile Nationalism'

Former Ülkü Ocakları General President Suat Başaran made a statement regarding the MHP, saying, "I must confess that I am helpless in the face of the ideological flexibility they possess and this mobile nationalism that wanders from nation to nation."
Issuing a statement on the matter, former Ülkü Ocakları General President Suat Başaran said, "Theirs is mobile nationalism."

MHP Deputy Chairman İsmail Özdemir had previously stated, "Whether we accept it or not, this is a technical reality. The Chairman expressed this reality. Turkey needs to overcome certain things," following the reactions to Bahçeli's use of the phrase "founding leader of the PKK" for Öcalan.
Subsequently, former Ülkü Ocakları President Suat Başaran joined the debate, stating regarding the MHP, "I must confess that I am helpless in the face of the ideological flexibility they possess and this mobile nationalism that wanders from nation to nation."

"In the end, I would certainly not be surprised if they say, 'Our name is the Nationalist Movement Party; of course, we will defend nationalism. We are the nationalists of every identity in Turkey.' BAHÇELİ'S 'FOUNDING LEADER' STATEMENT
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Bahçeli, in a statement made on his social media account regarding the attacks on Alawites in Syria, also addressed the DEM Party and used the following expressions:
"Will they fulfill the requirements of the 'Call for Peace and Democratic Society' prepared by the founding leader of the PKK, or will they act as intermediaries for rotten political mentalities that project Turkey falling into internal turmoil and chaos under the pretext of Syria? It is an urgent and vital necessity for the DEM Party to clarify its decision within this framework."
