It has been stated that the AKP will make new additions through mayoral transfers in some municipalities it failed to win in the March 31, 2024 local elections. According to the information provided, four mayors—three elected from the CHP and one from the Yeniden Refah Party—will join the AKP today.

Among the names reported to be joining the AKP is İzmir Foça Mayor Saniye Bora Fıçı. In Kayseri, it was stated that Felahiye Mayor Şeref Güleser and Akkışla Mayor Mustafa Dursun, who resigned from the CHP, will join the AKP.

It was also claimed that the mayor elected from the Yeniden Refah Party in the town of Sungu in Muş will join the AKP during the same process.

Journalist İsmail Saymaz, who announced the development, stated in a social media post: "Today, in addition to İzmir Foça, the CHP mayors of Kayseri's Felahiye and Akkışla are also joining the AK Party. The mayor of the town of Sungu in Muş, who was elected from the Yeniden Refah Party, is the fourth mayor who will be receiving a party pin."
