From Dervişoğlu to Erdoğan... 'Tenders for cronies, a cold shoulder to the public'

İYİ Party leader Müsavat Dervişoğlu evaluated recent economic and social developments in his remarks at his party's group meeting held at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Drawing attention to the increase in enforcement files and the debt crisis experienced across the country, Dervişoğlu stated, “There are 24 million enforcement files across Turkey. This is far beyond being an ordinary debt. It is a heavy burden that mortgages our future.”
"VISITS TO TRADESPEOPLE ABROAD ARE NO COINCIDENCE"
Touching upon the government's contacts abroad in his speech, Dervişoğlu pointed to the deepening economic difficulties, saying, “They are visiting tradespeople abroad because they are in no position to face the public here. Hundreds of factories are either for sale or for rent. A factory is sold because it cannot access financing, cannot pay its debts, or cannot sell what it produces.”

Emphasizing the deterioration in social indicators, Dervişoğlu pointed to the rise in divorce rates and the decline in marriages. Stating that the measures taken and economic packages announced by the government are insufficient, Dervişoğlu addressed President Erdoğan with the following words:
“Allow that 'yes-man' crew around you to take a look at the citizens. You are announcing measures and packages. Divorces have increased, marriage rates have fallen; you haven't had a chance to catch your breath from enriching your cronies with tailor-made tenders. Who is the perpetrator of this 25-year-old masterpiece, Mr. Erdoğan? Do you know who this nation will hold accountable?”
RECORDS IN INFLATION AND FOREIGN AID
Arguing that the country also ranks poorly in international comparisons, Dervişoğlu criticized the economic management, saying, “They say Turkey is breaking records. Let me tell you where it is breaking records; we are first in inflation and first in grants given to foreign countries.”
Müsavat Dervişoğlu emphasized that the government has an approach far from sincerely producing solutions to social issues, and stated that those responsible for the country's current situation must be held accountable in the public eye.
