Writer Fuat Uğur, known for his proximity to the government, made a post on his social media account regarding Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş that drew significant backlash.

In his social media post targeting Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş, journalist Fuat Uğur stated, 'Sinem Dedetaş, who brought in a twerk dance instructor from Africa so that the women of Üsküdar could learn, should perform twerk dances on stage to raise money to pay the salaries of Üsküdar Municipality employees. I am sure that the leading names of the bourgeoisie will invest good money in this show.'

In addition to Uğur, many social media users close to the AKP made posts with similar content. Following these developments, Üsküdar Municipality issued a statement. The statement included the following remarks:

'Following the lie spread by former Üsküdar Mayor Hilmi Türkmen that our municipality cannot pay staff salaries, criminal complaints will be filed against all social media accounts that have made immoral posts about our Mayor Sinem Dedetaş, and the legal process regarding these immoral cliques disguised as politicians and journalists will be followed to the end.'
