The political repercussions of the investigation into allegations of manipulative transactions conducted through funds in certain stocks on Borsa İstanbul continue. Following the implementation of a judicial control measure in the form of a travel ban on Mustafa Yazıcı, the son of AKP Deputy Chairman Hayati Yazıcı, a notable statement came from former AKP MKYK member Mücahit Birinci.
In a post on his social media account, Birinci stated that Hayati Yazıcı should clarify the matter due to his position. Stating, "Yes, the principle of the personality of crimes and punishments is valid," Birinci nevertheless argued that there is a political responsibility to provide an explanation.
"But of course, due to Hayati Bey's position, there is a situation that requires explanation. Politically, saying 'what does it have to do with me, it's my son' will not be convincing."
In his post, Birinci expressed that Hayati Yazıcı is an experienced politician and would not want any harm to come to the party, adding, "I expect him to provide an explanation on this matter." Birinci also noted that citizens have a high level of sensitivity regarding the issue.
DELETED HIS POST
It was reported that Birinci, who called on Hayati Yazıcı to make a public statement, later deleted the post in question from his social media account. The fact that the measure imposed on Mustafa Yazıcı's assets was lifted shortly after also became a topic of discussion.
In the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it had been reported that a measure was requested to prevent transactions that would reduce the assets of 30 people, including Mustafa Yazıcı. It is stated that the investigation is continuing within the scope of allegations of "laundering assets derived from crime" and opposition to the Capital Markets Law.
It was reported that after Mustafa Yazıcı's statement was taken, it was decided to implement a judicial control measure in the form of a travel ban, and the measure regarding his assets was lifted. The investigation is ongoing.
