WHO WAS FERDİ ZEYREK?
Ferdi Zeyrek was born in Manisa in 1977. Zeyrek, who completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Manisa, graduated from the Department of Architecture at Uludağ University's Faculty of Engineering and Architecture.
Zeyrek held various positions in civil society organizations and associations.
Zeyrek, who was a prospective CHP candidate for Manisa Metropolitan Mayor in the 2019 local elections, served as a council member in the Manisa Metropolitan and Şehzadeler municipalities.
Zeyrek, who also served as the Republican People's Party's Manisa provincial chair, became Manisa Metropolitan Mayor in the elections on March 31, 2024.
Zeyrek, who married Nurcan Zeyrek in 2003, was the father of 3 daughters.
Zeyrek was electrocuted at his home in the Yunusemre district on the evening of June 6 and had been receiving treatment at Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital.
