Allegation of 'trustee for CHP' offer to former State Minister: He recounted the phone call

The allegations of a trustee, which came to the agenda following operations targeting the CHP, have gained a new dimension.

TELE1 Editor-in-Chief Merdan Yanardağ, in a statement made during a live broadcast, recounted a phone conversation he had with former State Minister and CHP deputy Mehmet Sevigen.

According to Yanardağ's statements, Mehmet Sevigen was summoned to the prosecutor's office some time ago. There, he was presented with an offer to be appointed as a trustee for the CHP. However, Sevigen rejected this offer in no uncertain terms.

Merdan Yanardağ said, "I heard it from him personally. He clearly stated that he was summoned to the prosecutor's office, that he was offered to be a trustee for the CHP, but that he did not accept this duty."

According to what Yanardağ recounted, the phone conversation with Sevigen went as follows:

"Mehmet Sevigen was summoned to the prosecutor's office and the trustee issue was discussed with him. Then Mehmet Sevigen said that he told the prosecutors that while he would take on any duty and responsibility for the CHP as a party member, this would not befit the CHP and he would not do it."

However, Mehmet Sevigen says, 'Very serious preparations have been made on this matter. One even thinks from time to time: Could one accept it and lead it to an Extraordinary Convention within a week to get out of this situation?' he says.

Then he says, 'Hikmet (Çetin)'s name is being mentioned. Upon this, I called Hikmet Çetin, and then I saw that it was also stated in Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı's tweets that Hikmet Çetin would be appointed as a trustee. I called Hikmet brother. He said, "I would consider this an insult. I would not go in there to be a trustee for the CHP, but to defend the CHP." '"
