DEM Party deputy Cengiz Çandar, in a broadcast he participated in, raised a noteworthy claim regarding Ahmet Türk's inclusion in the Imralı delegation.
Çandar stated that terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan was insistent on including Ahmet Türk in the delegation and that Masoud Barzani was also informed during this process.
Following the statement made by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli on October 22, DEM Party figures Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Pervin Buldan held meetings with Abdullah Öcalan in Imralı.
Ahmet Türk, who did not participate in these meetings, later took part as a member of the delegation in contacts with parties.

Çandar had used the following expressions in a Medyascope broadcast:
“Ahmet Türk had previously criticized the leader of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in Iraq, Masoud Barzani. However, Abdullah Öcalan requested Türk's inclusion, saying, 'He is a respected name in the Kurdish community, he should also be on the delegation.' Upon this, the Republic of Turkey consulted Barzani, and Türk's past criticisms were recalled. Barzani conveyed that he saw no objection to Türk taking part in the delegation.”
