Behind the scenes of the CHP Congress: Audio recording of İmamoğlu and Kılıçdaroğlu emerges

It had been alleged that pressure was placed on Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu during the 38th Ordinary Congress of the CHP, where Özgür Özel was elected chairman. A new audio recording regarding the congress has emerged.

Journalist Erk Acarer shared the recording of the phone conversation between Kılıçdaroğlu and İmamoğlu. According to that audio recording, Kılıçdaroğlu tells İmamoğlu that he wants to withdraw from the race.

In the audio recording broadcast on SÖZCÜ TV, Ekrem İmamoğlu, who served as the chair of the congress, says, "Whatever you deem appropriate, Mr. Chairman. The election has started; you cannot legally withdraw right now, but my colleagues say you can withdraw with a written application."

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Özgür Özel competed for the chairmanship at the 38th Ordinary General Congress of the CHP. It was alleged that Kılıçdaroğlu, who bid farewell to the CHP chairmanship after the congress, was pressured to withdraw from the race.

Journalist Erk Acarer shared the audio recording from the day of the congress. Contrary to the allegations, Kılıçdaroğlu conveys to İmamoğlu that he himself wants to withdraw from the race.

In the audio recording, İmamoğlu says, "If you are thinking of us to express this to the public, we can express it here in the most appropriate way on your behalf, in accordance with the procedure. Whatever you desire. Whatever you deem appropriate, Mr. Chairman. Let me invite Mr. Özgür Özel here as well, and let us discuss this matter with him."

While the audio recording regarding the congress has emerged, all eyes are also on June 30 for the CHP congress case. The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has prepared an indictment regarding the CHP's congress.

In the indictment, Kılıçdaroğlu is listed as the victim, and İmamoğlu is listed as a suspect.
