Cem Küçük gives a date for early elections: 'At the very latest...'

Making statements on TGRT Haber's Medya Kritik program, Türkiye newspaper columnist Cem Küçük pointed out that there is a strong possibility that the dates for the Presidential and Parliamentary General Elections, expected to be held in 2024, will be moved forward.

Küçük stated that while he considers the possibility of the elections being held in 2027 to be low, holding the elections in the autumn of 2024 is considered a high probability.

"GAVE THE DATE THAT IS A STRONG POSSIBILITY"

Küçük said, "At the very worst, the elections could be held in March or April 2028. However, holding elections next autumn seems like a strong possibility." This statement reinforced the claims that election dates would be moved forward.

CHP LACKS ELECTION PREPARATION

Küçük expressed that despite the possibility of an early election, the CHP has not yet made any election preparations. Stating, "You need to determine your candidate, take your shape, and proceed with a strategy," Küçük emphasized the necessity for the CHP to quickly determine its candidate and form alliance strategies for an early election.

Küçük stated that during this period, CHP mayors are being tried and some are in prison, noting that the party needs to make a stronger preparation for the election process.

Küçük expressed that if the elections are held in November 2027, the CHP must correctly formulate its candidate determination process and party policies.

He also drew attention to the legal troubles faced by other mayors besides İmamoğlu. Küçük said, "After determining your candidate, you need to clarify the people you will form an alliance with, and then explain your party policies to the country."
