CHP Erzincan Deputy Mustafa Sarıgül, who visited Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ at Silivri Prison, stated that Özdağ expressed his reaction to the fact that no indictment has been prepared regarding the allegations against him for 65 days.
Sarıgül conveyed that Özdağ told him, "Why is my indictment not ready? I can no longer tolerate this. But if it continues like this, after the holiday, I will start a hunger strike; I can no longer tolerate it. I will protest the laws with my body."
Making statements after visiting Özdağ, Mustafa Sarıgül used the following expressions:
"When I came to see Ümit Hoca 3 weeks ago, he was in higher spirits, but Ümit Hoca says: 'It has been 65 days. Why is my indictment not ready? Why am I here? I wish I knew why I am here. My alleged crime is a strong suspicion of a crime, and there is no prison time for such a sentence in law. I can no longer tolerate this. From today on, I will no longer eat food from the canteen. I will not eat the food provided by the ministry. I will fast with my own means. But if it continues like this, he says, after the holiday, I will start a hunger strike; I can no longer tolerate it. I will protest the laws with my body. I cannot solve the laws with my brain.'"
