Critical statement from the DEM Party Imralı delegation: Response to claims regarding Imralı meetings

The DEM Party Imralı Delegation has released a written statement regarding notes circulating on social media in recent days, which are claimed to be from meetings held with Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, who is imprisoned at Imralı Prison.

The statement noted that certain circles have been circulating manipulative documents regarding the content of the meetings, causing public speculation, and emphasized that only information and statements shared by the delegation itself should be considered credible.

“DISTORTED DOCUMENTS ARE INVALID AND UNDERMINE TRUST”

In the statement issued by the delegation, it was recalled that the meetings are conducted with a certain level of confidentiality by their nature, and the following remarks were included:

“For some time, notes alleged to be from the meetings held on Imralı Island have been published and interpreted by certain circles on social media.

Only the statements made by our delegation regarding the meetings with Mr. Öcalan are valid.

Documents and information based on distorted, speculative, and baseless interpretations, other than those presented by the delegation, should not be given any credence.”

The statement emphasized that issues concerning social peace must be handled with a serious, reliable, and careful approach. The delegation described the posts aimed at misleading the public as “provocative attempts”:
