"THE DEMİRTAŞ RULING DEBATES SHOULD NOT MAKE US FORGET THE FACTS"

Touching upon the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruling regarding Selahattin Demirtaş, Destici emphasized that the essence of the matter has been ignored in recent debates.

"As members of the Great Unity Party and Alperens, I state that we have never even considered making peace, reaching an agreement, or embracing those murderers. I declare here clearly that we have never considered treating the traitors who murdered our children as human beings, and we will not do so from now on either," said Destici, noting that no concessions should be made in the fight against terrorism.

"THE 2014 KOBANI EVENTS SHOULD NOT BE FORGOTTEN"

Recalling the Kobani (Ayn al-Arab) events that took place in 2014, Destici said that the calls made at that time targeted Turkey.

"In the week we are in, political parties have intensely discussed the ECHR ruling regarding the terrorist Selahattin Demirtaş and the demands for his release. However, the case or the events that caused Demirtaş to be in prison seem to have been forgotten. Our duty is to remind people of these," said Destici, using the following expressions:

"In 2014, the terrorist organization's party threatened the Republic of Turkey with starting an uprising if it did not help the PKK terrorists besieged by DAESH in Ayn al-Arab. Turkey did not help the PKK. Subsequently, a call for an uprising was made by their so-called co-chairman Demirtaş. In the resulting incidents, 46 people, including Yasin Börü, were killed, and 682 people were injured. Countless homes and workplaces were damaged in 16 provinces."

"TERRORISM MUST NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE WHITEWASHED"

At the end of his speech, Destici stated that individuals and groups involved in terrorist acts should not be allowed to be portrayed as "victims."

Stating that efforts to politicize terrorism target Turkey's unity, the BBP leader said, "It is out of the question for Turkey to compromise its determination in the fight against terrorism."
