While claims of an early election in Turkey remain on the agenda, the CHP's announcement that it will hold a primary to determine its presidential candidate has reignited the debates.
While the name of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu stands out as the strongest candidate on the CHP front, no clear statement has been made on the AKP side.
On the other hand, while it remains uncertain whether President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will run again, journalist Fatih Altaylı made notable assessments regarding the names the AKP could nominate if Erdoğan does not enter the race.
''THE AKP'S STRONGEST CANDIDATES ARE CLEAR''
Speaking on his own YouTube channel, Altaylı highlighted the names of Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan and Baykar Chairman of the Board Selçuk Bayraktar as the strongest potential candidates within the AKP.
He also listed Haluk Bayraktar, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Numan Kurtulmuş, and former Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu among the possible candidates.
