President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has given the order for social housing projects to be rapidly implemented in response to rising rental prices.
The government has taken action for the social housing initiative, which Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek pointed to in recent months as a solution to exorbitant rental prices.
WHAT DECISIONS WERE MADE AT THE LAST MEETING?
According to Türkiye's report, President Erdoğan announced during his latest meeting with his party's members of parliament that social housing projects would be launched.
Erdoğan stated that they would launch a social housing mobilization to solve housing need issues and that the projects would be coordinated by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.
Stating that detailed housing need analyses will be conducted in every province, Erdoğan emphasized that priority in the projects will be given to regions where supply shortages are most acute.
The social housing projects aim to balance the increase in rental prices and make it easier for low-income citizens to become homeowners.
