Even the ruling party's own voters have turned their backs
The April 2026 survey by PİAR Research has revealed a serious objection within the AKP base toward current policies. One-fifth of the AKP voters who participated in the survey stated that they would not vote in the ballot box if changes are not made to the policies implemented by the government.

PİAR Research has shared the results of its latest political agenda survey conducted in April 2026.
In the study published under the title "Turkey Political Agenda Survey April 2026," the reactions coming from the base regarding the ruling party's policies were detailed.
The research was conducted between April 3-6 with 2,440 people in 26 provinces, and the margin of error for the survey was announced as 1.98 percent. Participants were asked to express their views on the current government's policies.
Participants were asked the question, "If the AKP goes to the elections without changing its current policies, would you vote for them again?" While 64.8 percent of the AKP voters who participated in the survey answered, "I would vote again if they go to the elections with the current policies," 21.3 percent answered, "I will not vote if they do not change their policies." The remaining 13.9 percent stated that they were undecided.
In another section of the survey, the attitude of Republican People's Party (CHP) voters was examined. Voters who said, "If there were an election today, I would vote for the CHP," showed a higher rate of approval regarding their party's current policies.
A segment of 90.2 percent stated that they would continue to vote for the CHP even if the party did not change its policies.
Among CHP voters, the rate of those who said, "I will not vote if the policies do not change," was measured at only 5.8 percent, while the rate of undecided voters remained at the 4.0 percent level.
