The DEM Party drew attention with a 99-page report it submitted to the 'Terror-Free Turkey' commission in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). The report detailed the demands of the PKK and requests regarding the resolution process. While the demands in the report have sparked debates across the country, it is stated that the AKP's report on this issue has not yet been completed and that there are differing views within the party.

According to a report by Veli Toprak from Sözcü, one of the primary demands in the DEM report is that PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan be accepted as the "chief interlocutor." Furthermore, it was requested that a "Right to Hope" law be enacted for Öcalan and that he be granted the right to meet with whomever he wishes. The report states that Öcalan should be accepted not only as the leader of a terrorist organization but also as a key actor in the peace process.

In its report, DEM demanded a reduction in the military presence in the region. The report emphasized that armored vehicles in Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia should be withdrawn and the village guard system should be abolished. It was also stated that special operations units in the region should be withdrawn.

KURDISH DEMANDED TO BE AN OFFICIAL LANGUAGE

Regarding education and public services, DEM demanded that Kurdish be accepted as a language of instruction. The report, which calls for Kurdish to be included in education from kindergarten to university, also proposed that municipalities provide services in Kurdish, that traffic signs be in Kurdish, and that the TBMM officially recognize Kurdish.

While the government's steps regarding the Imralı process continue, the report that the AKP is preparing to submit to Parliament has caused internal party debates. Journalist İsmail Saymaz stated that the AKP's Imralı process report is constantly being changed, and he conveyed the reasons for the uncertainty. Accordingly, the report has been changed many times in recent days, the text has been constantly revised, and a final version has not yet been decided upon. While it is stated that the preparation process for the report has been more painful than expected on the AKP front, it has been learned that the text is being rewritten repeatedly due to differing views within the party.

Every new intervention in the report has invalidated the previous version. For this reason, the submission schedule for the text has also been postponed. It is stated that a common view has not yet been reached within the party regarding the framework in which the report should be presented. The AKP's report on the Imralı process is planned to be presented to Erdoğan tomorrow. Following this, the text is expected to be forwarded to the Speaker of Parliament. The political direction given to the report will be decisive in the subsequent steps of the Imralı process.
