Fatih Altaylı announces second move following party congress lawsuit: It will shake the foundations!

Journalist Fatih Altaylı was arrested in recent months on charges of "insulting the President." While in prison, Altaylı continues to share his views on current events through letters and content he prepares.

In his YouTube broadcast today, Altaylı evaluated the interim decision issued in yesterday's party congress lawsuit.

Altaylı drew attention to the fact that the court did not issue an injunction in its interim decision. Interpreting the outcome of the case with a football analogy, Altaylı said, "The most important result of yesterday's case was that there was no injunction in the interim decision. There was no goal in the match; the ball is in midfield."

Pointing out that the plaintiffs have another plan, Altaylı said the following:

"If you ask me, those who filed this lawsuit were going to have a second move. I think that if a decision of 'absolute nullity' had been issued here, there would also be an indictment regarding the local elections, and they were preparing to challenge the 2024 CHP candidates. In other words, they were planning to say that if the administration that determined these candidates is null and void, then the candidates themselves are also null and void. I have no evidence, but that is my feeling."

WHAT HAPPENED?

Following the cancellation of the CHP İstanbul Provincial Congress by a court injunction, former CHP deputy Gürsel Tekin had been appointed as a trustee to replace Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik.

Immediately afterward, eyes turned to the lawsuit filed for the cancellation of the CHP's Ordinary General Congress. In the hearing held yesterday, the court decided to postpone the case. The case was adjourned until October 24.

Before the postponement decision, a congress will be held with delegates other than those elected on September 21. Some legal experts claim that this congress will legally cause the lawsuit to be dropped.
