Former minister Nahit Menteşe laid to rest
Former Minister Nahit Menteşe was laid to rest following a funeral ceremony. After a ceremony held at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), Menteşe's funeral was brought to the Ahmet Hamdi Akseki Mosque and, following the noon prayer, he was interred at the Karşıyaka Cemetery. In addition to his family and relatives, many figures from the world of politics attended the ceremony. Menteşe had served for many years as a deputy for Aydın and held various ministerial positions.

Following the initial ceremony at the TBMM, the funeral of former minister Nahit Menteşe was brought to the Ahmet Hamdi Akseki Mosque.
The funeral ceremony held after the noon prayer was attended by Menteşe's family and relatives, as well as AK Party Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala, Chairman of the TBMM Interior Affairs Commission Süleyman Soylu, Democrat Party Chairman Gültekin Uysal, and various deputies, former ministers, politicians, and citizens.
After the prayer, Menteşe's coffin was placed in the hearse and taken to Karşıyaka Cemetery to be buried.
WHO IS NAHİT MENTEŞE?
Born in the Milas district of Muğla in 1932, Menteşe graduated from the Istanbul University Faculty of Law.
A self-employed lawyer, Menteşe served as a deputy for Aydın during the 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 19th, and 20th legislative terms.
Menteşe, who also served as Minister of Customs and Monopolies, Minister of Transport, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Minister of Tourism and Promotion, Minister of National Education, as well as Minister of Interior, Minister of State, and Deputy Prime Minister, was married and a father of two.
