Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi made evaluations regarding Abdullah Öcalan's recent messages and the potential reactions from Kandil.
Emphasizing the lessons learned from the past resolution process, Selvi stated, "Because we have been burned once, we are now being extra cautious. Öcalan's call is clear. If Kandil rejects this as well, I wonder what step Öcalan will take. Can he, as the founding leader of the PKK, dissolve the organization?"
Highlighting that the international conjuncture is in Turkey's favor, Selvi pointed to developments in Syria.
"The PKK has lost its capacity to carry out operations in Turkey. In Syria, the rug is being pulled out from under its feet," said Selvi, claiming that the process initiated by Bahçeli's call is being shaped by Öcalan's contributions.
KANDIL WILL BE THE DECIDING FACTOR
Arguing that the reaction from Kandil will be decisive, Selvi commented, "This process could be the last exit before the tunnel for Kandil." Selvi's assessments have brought the debates regarding the resolution process back to the agenda.
