He revealed the real target of the municipal operations: The Bahçeli crisis!
CHP's Bülent Tezcan stated that although the detention of Beyoğlu Mayor İnan Güney took place following the calls of MHP leader Bahçeli, the real target of this operation was not the CHP. Tezcan claimed that the operation was moved forward after the AKP failed in its attempt to transfer municipal council members.

Journalist Fatih Altaylı, who has been detained in Silivri (Marmara) Prison since June 22, directed striking questions to CHP Aydın Deputy Bülent Tezcan. Evaluating the agenda following the transition of Aydın Metropolitan Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu to the AKP, Tezcan also spoke about the operation targeting the Beyoğlu Municipality.
Altaylı stated that operations against CHP municipalities are no longer surprising, adding, "He saw the fact that such an operation was carried out despite the calls of Bahçeli and the MHP as an interesting message. The address to which the message was sent was not the CHP, but..."
Fatih Altaylı revealed that an attempt was made to transfer two council members to the AKP before the operation against the Beyoğlu Municipality. Tezcan confirmed this claim, stating that the AKP was unsuccessful in this attempt.
Altaylı explained, "A few weeks ago, we said that an operation would be carried out on a municipality in Istanbul and that the AKP was trying to transfer 2 municipal council members for this. That municipality was the Beyoğlu Municipality. However, they could not transfer those two members. I asked Tezcan, and he said, 'They couldn't.'"
Furthermore, Fatih Altaylı suggested that this operation might have been moved forward as a retaliation after CHP leader Özgür Özel exposed Mücahit Birinci.
Bülent Tezcan said that as the CHP grows stronger and the likelihood of the opposition coming to power increases, the operations will also increase. Recalling the Kılıçdaroğlu era, Tezcan stated, "Sometimes I think, if Kılıçdaroğlu were still at the head of the CHP, I guess none of these operations would have happened. Besides, the CHP wouldn't have had this many mayors anyway."
BAHÇELİ'S CALL
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli said in a statement on August 11 that investigations into CHP municipalities should be accelerated:
"Turkey must rapidly rid itself of the legal cases that are becoming heavier and spreading and intensifying in many areas, especially in municipalities, and ultimately, the complete manifestation of justice must be ensured. With the end of the judicial recess, the completion of ongoing investigations and prosecutions as soon as possible should be our priority in terms of democracy and legal security."
THANKS TO BAHÇELİ FROM ÖZGÜR ÖZEL
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel found Bahçeli's statements positive. In his assessment on August 12, Özel said the following:
"Bahçeli and the MHP deputy chairmen have been making statements inviting common sense for some time. We also find yesterday's statement valuable. We are not running away from being tried, being investigated, or from inspectors. With the end of the judicial recess, the indictment should be submitted, and the trial phase should begin. They have devastated the legal system."
