Significant changes are expected in the party administration and the cabinet ahead of the major congress that the AKP will hold on February 23. While TGRT Haber Ankara Representative Fatih Atik claims that President Erdoğan will replace 6-7 ministers, former MP Şamil Tayyar has revealed the name of the minister whose position is guaranteed.

A wind of major change is blowing in the AKP ahead of the congress. President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had signaled "change" in the party administration and the cabinet following the local elections.
With the completion of the provincial congresses, all eyes have turned to the AKP General Congress on February 23. TGRT Haber Ankara Representative Fatih Atik and former AKP MP Şamil Tayyar made remarkable statements regarding the change scenarios being discussed in the lobbies.
''THERE WILL BE RADICAL CHANGES''
Speaking on a live broadcast on TGRT Haber, Fatih Atik stated that significant changes will take place at the AKP Headquarters. Emphasizing that party organizations are closely following the decisions Erdoğan will make, Atik used the following expressions:
"The eyes and ears of the AK Party organizations are on the change that President Erdoğan will make. There was a provincial congress today, and for the first time in the AK Party, a mayor was made to resign and appointed as the provincial chairman. Abdullah Özdemir is a successful figure, and this move serves as an important message to the organizations. A serious change is expected in the Headquarters administration. President Erdoğan attaches great importance to young people, and a change has taken place in the youth branches. A similar situation will occur at the Headquarters. It is being discussed that AK Party Secretary General Fatih Şahin, Promotion and Media Head Hamza Dağ, and Deputy Chairman Erkan Kandemir could be brought to different positions. Additionally, one of the female deputy chairpersons is expected to enter the cabinet."
CABINET CHANGE WILL HAPPEN BEFORE THE CONGRESS
Stating that there will be serious changes in the cabinet before the AKP General Congress and that this will happen gradually, Atik noted the following:
"Let us expect a change every Friday before the grand congress on February 23. I think the cabinet change will also be made before the grand congress. When I spoke with officials at the Presidential Complex, I received humorous responses like, 'We don't even know who will stay and who will go within 15-20 days.' However, it is very clear that there will be a radical change in the cabinet."
WHICH MINISTERS MIGHT BE CHANGED?
Atik said that the names of Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, and Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy stand out among the ministers likely to be changed.
He also stated that the situation of Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç is uncertain.
Furthermore, reminding that there are four deputy ministers in every ministry, Atik expressed that the change will not be limited to ministers and that 64 deputy ministers could also be replaced.
''THE ONLY MINISTER WHOSE SEAT IS GUARANTEED''
Speaking on the same broadcast, former AKP MP Şamil Tayyar drew attention to the scale of the change in the cabinet and said that the seat of Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek is guaranteed. Tayyar made the following assessment:
"All ministers can be changed, but the only name whose seat is guaranteed is Mehmet Şimşek. He is a critical figure in terms of stability in economic management. If he were to be replaced, a major crisis could arise. Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan is a very successful name. He will not remain outside the cabinet, but there could be a change in his position."
NEW NAMES AT THE FOREFRONT IN LOBBIES
There is also lobby information that some mayors could be appointed as ministers. As the change process in the AKP becomes clearer with each passing day before the grand congress, it is curiously awaited what kind of revision Erdoğan will make.
