According to information obtained from Ankara's political circles, three independent deputies are expected to join the AKP in the coming days. While the exact date for the new additions has not been finalized, it is stated that negotiations have been ongoing for some time.
According to some sources, these additions could be made official during a meeting to be held at the party headquarters. It was also claimed that the participation of some mayors in the party is on the agenda for the same day.
TWO NAMES CONFIRMED, THIRD UNCERTAIN
According to the report in Ekonomim, two of the three deputies expected to join the AKP will be Istanbul deputies Selim Temurci and İsa Mesih Şahin, who resigned from the Future Party (Gelecek Partisi) last July. No clear information has been reached yet regarding who the third name will be.
President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is expected to deliver important messages to the deputies at the opening of the new legislative year.
Following the frequent closure of sessions during the last legislative term due to some deputies not showing sufficient participation in parliamentary work, it is stated that Erdoğan will make a special emphasis on this issue.
In parallel with Erdoğan's statement that "2026 will be our year of reform," it is stated that Parliament will enter an intense work pace during this period. It is reported that the President will ask the deputies to show full participation in parliamentary work and will thank them for the work they carried out in the field during the summer months.
