Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, who was electrocuted at his home in the Yunusemre district on the evening of June 6, passed away on June 9 at the Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital, where he was receiving treatment.
Zeyrek's funeral was held one day later following a funeral prayer at Manisa Republic Square.
The investigation into Zeyrek's death is ongoing. In this context, the prosecutor and experts are continuing their examinations of the pool at the villa where Zeyrek resided.
While the pool water was being drained, the surrounding area and the section containing the machine room were cordoned off with fences.
