A new front in the IMM investigation... Will the next operation target MHP figures? Is a rift emerging in the People's Alliance?

The second wave of operations launched as part of the investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has stirred up political circles. Claims that some figures known for their proximity to the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) have also been detained as part of the investigation have led to tension within the People's Alliance.

WHO OWNS THE LUXURY VEHICLES?

The process was ignited by a striking statement made by CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). Başarır alleged that the luxury vehicles found in the IMM garage belonged to an MHP politician. Following this statement, it began to be discussed in political circles that the individual in question was MHP Mersin Deputy Levent Uysal. The fact that Uysal is also from Mersin, like Başarır, was considered a noteworthy detail.

SECOND WAVE: FIGURES CLOSE TO MHP ARRESTED

According to T24 columnist Tolga Şardan, two figures close to the MHP were included in the second wave of detentions. It was learned that one of these individuals is a businessperson, while the other is a bureaucrat actively serving within the IMM. Both individuals are being closely monitored by sources close to the MHP Headquarters.

These detained individuals were referred to the court by the prosecutor's office with a request for arrest and were sent to prison by the court they appeared before. This situation has caused discomfort within the MHP, and it has been reported that the developments are being closely followed by the party's upper echelons.

LEVENT UYSAL'S ASSETS A SUBJECT OF DEBATE

The name of MHP deputy Levent Uysal was reflected in the investigation file in a different context. The inclusion of allegations regarding a "suspicious increase" in Uysal's assets in media outlets close to the government is being followed carefully in MHP circles. Although no official action has been initiated against him yet, the rumors surrounding Uysal's name are raising questions.

CLAIMS OF DISAGREEMENT BETWEEN POLICE AND PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE

Another striking dimension of the investigation was the alleged disagreements between the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Istanbul Police Department. According to Şardan's claim, different attitudes were adopted between the institutions on critical issues such as document preparation and detention procedures. It was alleged that these disagreements reached as far as Ankara and caused discomfort in the central administration.

TENSION AND WAITING IN MHP CIRCLES

In light of all these developments, it is stated that the MHP Headquarters is monitoring the process with great attention, but no official statement has been made yet. The possibility of the investigation expanding has caused the question "how far will this operation reach?" to be asked loudly within the MHP.

The fact that the IMM investigation also covers figures close to the MHP has brought the question "is a new crisis emerging within the People's Alliance?" to the political agenda.
