While the opposition demanded that the trial be broadcast live, and the ruling party initially gave the green light to this proposal, the motion was rejected in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) with MHP and AKP votes. The 19 people arrested as part of the investigation were released on December 4.

A politician from the ruling camp, referring to the disorganization in the indictment, stated, "If someone reaches for a large stone in a fight, it is understood that they have no intention of throwing it." This comment reveals that the purpose of the file is being questioned.

Legal experts are deepening their criticism regarding the content of the indictment. Many legal expert MPs have criticized the complexity of the file, stating that an indictment with 400 defendants is unrealistic. "Such a large and disorganized file will become even more complex during the court phase. There is no doubt that this file will be overturned at the Court of Cassation stage. The Court of Cassation's independent staff, which respects legal values, may reject such problematic indictments," was one such assessment.
The structure of the indictment has been another subject heavily criticized by legal experts. While it is noted that many criminal cases proceed by focusing on the main elements of the incident, it is stated that the allegations have been expanded in the IMM investigation.
"Even in murder cases where the victim is stabbed in multiple places, the case is built around the blow that hit the heart. However, when you examine this indictment, the file is messy and the penalties are exaggerated. In addition to the criminal allegations, many other issues that would weaken the case have been included in the file. It appears that by making the file disorganized, the intention was to distract attention," were some of the comments made.
Journalist Nuray Babacan conveyed the purpose of the indictment as follows:
"It is clear that there is no pursuit of a legal outcome from this indictment. The main goal is to push Ekrem İmamoğlu and his team out of politics. This can also be understood from the complexity of the file and the other issues included in it. It turns out that politicians examining the file believe that the purpose of the indictment is not to achieve a legal result, but rather to push İmamoğlu out of the system."
